Australian golf legend Gregory John Norman has been appointed Vietnam's tourism ambassador for the 2025–2030 term.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong announced Norman's reappointment at a ceremony on Friday.
The Australian golfer, widely known as Greg Norman, had served as Vietnam's tourism ambassador from October 2018 to October 2021.
Speaking at the ceremony, Norman expressed pride in continuing his association with Vietnam, pledging to "do my best" to help foreign tourists recognize Vietnam not only as a golfing destination, but also as a country rich in heritage, nature, culture, and warm hospitality.
During his new term, Norman will continue promoting Vietnam's golf tourism through his personal media platforms, which have over 175,000 followers.
He also aims to help organize international golf tournaments in Vietnam and bring a world-class event to the country during his tenure.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Norman's appointment is part of an ongoing strategy to advance "golf diplomacy"—a form of soft power that connects Vietnam with the global business, sports, and tourism communities.
